Donate to the GoFundMe pages for the victims of the racist terrorist attack in Portland, Oregon–Ricky Best and Taliesin Namkai-Meche, who were stabbed to death, and the third, who is still in the hospital.
On Friday afternoon in Portland, a white male passenger on a MAX train started spewing hate speech, some of which he directed at two women in the same car who appeared to be Muslim (one was reportedly wearing hijab).
Three male passengers intervened and tried to calm the man down. He lashed out, stabbing them. One was dead on the scene. One died later. A third, who as of May 27 had not been named publicly, is recovering and should survive.
In the interest of not lavishing attention on the suspect, we won’t give his name. He is being held on bail on several serious charges, and local newspapers have identified him as a known right-wing extremist and white supremacist.
