Whenever a terrible, racist act engulfs the news, many white people (writers of this blog no exception) are engulfed in turn by feelings of powerlessness. We know we should do something, but what, we’re not always sure.

A fair number of us do know better than to ask our black friends for help–we know that it’s not their responsibility to educate us about racism, but our responsibility to educate ourselves.

Sarah Sophie Flicker and Alyssa Klein have made things easier. In May 2020, they compiled a Google Doc of Anti-racism Resources.

The document covers books to read, videos to watch, podcasts to hear, and organizations to follow on social media. It also includes resources for parents who want to raise anti-racist children.

It’s good. You’ll want to bookmark it and work your way through it, bit by bit.
