We’re repeating this post fairly soon after first publishing it because Texas’s Republican Governor, Greg Abbott, seems determined to monkey with access to voting as much as he can ahead of the November 3, 2020 election. No matter what happens in the courts, Rideshare2Vote will play a vital role in helping Texans vote.

Texas might go blue this year. TEXAS.
If it does, Trump has no chance to win reelection. None. Its 38 electoral votes are vital to the GOP’s chances.
Beto O’Rourke has noted over and over again that Texas is not a red state, it’s a non-voting state. Since narrowly losing a bid to unseat Texas Senator Ted Cruz and running for president, O’Rourke has poured his efforts into registering Texans to vote.
Unsurprisingly, this has shaken the Texas GOP. The state’s governor, Greg Abbott, who is–you guessed it–a Republican, has responded with a bit of late-breaking voter suppression.
He’s trying to limit the number of ballot drop-off boxes to one per county.
Such a move is patently absurd in a state as big as Texas. Harris County, which is home to Houston, Texas, has more than four million residents.
Voting rights advocates have sued to stop Abbott’s nonsense, and we at OTYCD hope they succeed.
But there’s another way you can help Texas voters get to the polls, a dropbox, or their county elections office.
Launched in 2018, Rideshare2Vote offers progressive and Democratic voters in Texas help with traveling to cast a ballot in state, local, and now federal elections.
It provides free round trips to voters in seven Texas counties, including those that include Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston.
Voters can avail themselves of the service to cast ballots at their designated polling place or deliver their ballots to a county election office or a drop box.
