Support 314 Action, which helps elect Democratic candidates with STEM and science backgrounds to office.
OTYCD first wrote about 314 Action way back in August 2017. It’s a nonprofit that helps get people with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) backgrounds elected to office, and advocates for laws founded on solid science and evidence-based reasoning.
As you can imagine, 314 Action had more than enough to tackle during the Trump years. It’s not slowing down at all now that Biden is president. It aims to raise and spend $50 million backing scientifically literate Democratic candidates to run for office in 2022, and that includes the Senate races in Ohio and Pennsylvania, where the GOP incumbents have both announced they won’t run again.
314 Action has gone from strength to strength. Most recently, it helped elect Jon Ossoff, Rev. Raphael Warnock, John Hickenlooper, and Mark Kelly to the Senate; helped elect Cori Bush and Nikema Williams to the House of Representatives; and helped re-elect House Reps Sean Casten, Chrissy Houlihan, Elaine Luria, Kim Schrier, and Lauren Underwood.
And hey! March 14 is kind of its day, after all, and we at OTYCD loves us some science, so today we celebrate 314 Action and invite you to support them in any way you can.
