Pre-order Everything Trump Touches Dies by Rick Wilson, Or Request It From Your Local Library

Pre-order Everything Trump Touches Dies, the new book from GOP strategist Rick Wilson. If you can’t pre-order it, request it from your local library instead.

OTYCD is not a fan of Rick Wilson’s politics, and we sure as hell aren’t fans of every last little thing he’s done in his professional career. But from the approach of the Trump era, Wilson has been on the side of right as opposed to the side of the right, and he has been fierce and unflinching.

In the past we have encouraged you to follow his Twitter feed and donate to the GoFundMe for the Everything Trump Touches Dies movie (which you can still do, by the way). Now we’re encouraging you to pre-order the book of the same name.

Yes, we haven’t read it yet and we’re asking you to lay down money before it comes out.

Why, you ask? Simple. By pre-ordering a book, you show the publisher that there is clear demand for it. If folks are clamoring for a book by a certain person, or on a certain subject, the publisher might contract more books by the same people, and more books on the same topic.

We’re not sure what else Wilson might write in the future, but we definitely want more books like ETTD. Please step up and put your money where your mouth is.

Ditto for requesting it from your library. Yes, it’s not available yet, but libraries figure out how many copies to order in part by tallying the requests they get for a title. By asking for it now, ahead of the August 7 release date, you boost sales of the book and make it more available in your community’s library system.

Support Rick Wilson’s Film, Everything Trump Touches Dies (Update March 11, 2018)

This OTYCD entry originally posted in September 2017.

Support Everything Trump Touches Dies, a film that Florida-based Republican strategist Rick Wilson hopes to finish in time to release in January 2018.

Rick Wilson is a Republican who has assisted several high-level Republican campaigns. We at OTYCD began following him after the 2016 election and boy, has that guy brought the fire. He has been unsparing and relentless in his savaging of Trump. If he didn’t coin the phrase “everything Trump touches dies,” he’s certainly popularized it.

He plans to co-create a feature-length documentary with that title for release in January 2018. Here’s what he says about the project on its GoFundMe page:

“We’re here to tell the story of the first year of Donald Trump’s reckless, failed Presidency and the damage he’s done to America’s reputation, values, and institutions, and to the allies and supporters who put him in office and served in his White House.

We’ve estimated a production budget of $85,000 for a completed documentary, including all editing, shooting, footage and media rights, music, professional voiceover, travel, and legal work related to the film.

We hope you’ll join us in making this important film. We’re waiving our usual production fees and putting our own funds and time into the project. If we see the kind of support we know is out there, we’ll begin production immediately, and premiere the film in January of 2018.”

This should be good.

As of September 23, 2017, Wilson and his creative partner, filmmaker Ben Howe, had raised just over $27,000 for Everything Trump Touches Dies.

Update: As of March 11, 2018, the GoFundMe for the film had raised just over $59,000, and is still open.

If you can donate, please do. If you can’t, tell people about the project by promoting it on social media.
